Looking for donations of computer parts this week

The Creative Minds Arts Center is a community arts center located at 3109 Troost in east Kansas City, Missouri. We run the Hip Hop Academy, an arts program for pre-teens and young teens. We host movies, concerts, plays, speakers, and art shows in our theater. The Crossroads Infoshop and Radical Bookstore is under our roof. We have a room full of donated computers (around 20-25) that we are trying to turn into a community computer lab. A geek from the Bay Area is in town this week and is volunteering his time to get these computers working and networked. These computers were donated to the CMAC two years ago. They are mostly Compaqs using the first generation of Pentium chips. We are planning to install Ubuntu on at least half of these computers. We are looking for CD-ROM drives, because most of these computers don't have them and it makes it easier to install software. We are also looking for memory. Volunteers are also appreciated and we won't frown if you donate other, more recent, computer equipment. Donations to this project are tax deductible. You are welcome to drop off parts and equipment during the following hours: Monday: 4-7 pm Wednesday: 1-5 pm Saturday: 1-5 pm We can arrange pickup of donated equipment, depending on what you are donating and your location. SATA PT2

Thanks to everybody who clued me in on what I needed for duel sata, I seen a demonstration computer running a quad core processor with SUSE 10.3 and thought to myself it time to update the server, I already have four IDE drives totaling 750G, on a win98/XP system. that somewhat works and a 40G Sata have been playing around with while learning Linux. The tech wold seems to be leaning heavily toward SATA for future developments, So i figured i might as well go that route for now. If I could afford 1T SCSI HD, I would go that route. but as it my planning is going know, I dumping everything into the processor. I am going to build a new server with the quad core that is just out or is coming out, So far I think I going with the Kentfield processor from Intel, unless the Barcelona (sp?) from AMD seems to better suit me when I get it time to go shopping. The Mobo I saw an Asues that I still checking into.

In an attempt to scrounge up the funds to buy a new supervisor module for my cisco switch, I'm offering up the following parts for sale... 1 AMD Athlon64 3200+ cpu (cpu only, no heatsink/fan... used) - $20 2 1U Server cases - Supermicro SC512C - $50/each If these aren't gone by the end of this week, I'm throwing them up on ebay. I am wanting o put in duel SATA hard drives on a Linux Machine, but the connector/cable appears to support on one drive, is there a way to add an additional?

BLAST! Pwned by t3h gmail again. This intarweb thing is too complicated. Google needs to make gmail more hackable. The job requires significant software development skills within a Linux environment, and will require coordination with many outside interests.
