I am wanting o put in duel SATA hard drives on a Linux Machine, but the connector/cable appears to support on one drive, is there a way to add an additional?
A duel is a formalized type of combat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duel A dual is a pair or a grouping of two. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dual
If you don't want your SATA drives to fight, I suggest dual drives instead of duel. You may need an additional card, or they will have to duel over which one gets the connector.

You need yourself a SATA interface card.
ONLY 1 drive per SATA cable I'm afraid. It would be odd that your motherboard has only 1 SATA port. I'm guessing that you have all available SATA ports on your motherboard used and would like to add another SATA HDD. In this case, you would need to add another SATA controller to your lineup.

The only way you can do this is by purchasing a SATA controller card that supports multiple connections. Look at http://www.adaptec.com/en-US/products/sata_tech/value/AAR-2420SA/ for a nice 4 port card that will support H/W level raid with your SATA for under $400.
