Yep, that's what my current configuration is.
PM : HD SM : CDRW w/o speaker hookup SS : CD/DVDROM w/speaker hookup
Now if I only knew how to connect the speakers in such a way as to be able to let either one use the speakers. I of course could always do some fancy custom wiring to either put them in parallel or series, but then either the current might be off or the voltage, unless I added them to a custom board, etc. Another possibility is to rewire one to fit one of the alternate connectors on the SB.

Some Western Digital drives I've had wanted to be on CS, especially if the only drive in the chain. I personally don't trust CS as far as I could throw it. It can get confusing which drive you are using when installing an OS or a new bootloader. CDRW drives like to be Secondary Master, but don't have to be. When they first came out for IDE that was a general rule to installing one though. Move the CDROM from SM to SS and put the CDRW on SM. Or put the CDROM on as PS. Can't remember which gives you better speed for CD to CD copy, but I imagine the best solution would be a drive controller and put em both on as masters.

If the CDRW doesn't have audio out, it doesn't have audio out.
If it has a standard three- or four-wire connection for analog audio to a sound card, you can tap that, but I wouldn't. Just run 'em both through the sound card and let that operate as the mixer.
