That is one of the things I added. Still no sound out of Amarok. It acts like it is playing though.
This is probably an obvious question, but have you checked your WAVE output levels in alsamixer, or whatever mixer you are using?

I have Kmix and I have tried raising all the levels up, but it makes no difference. AC '97 level was off and at bottom as well as 3D, Mono, Surround, Mic, Input. PCM was up.

On Debian based distros there is a curses script called "alsaconf" which will automatically choose the correct primary audio device and set the mixer levels correctly.
