It hasn't been all that long since I did this, but using KDE to write the .img file was never mentioned, always rawrite or dd. If this feature is now available, then cool. I seem to recall now that the creator of rawwritewin was working on a rawwritelin, but it wasn't in a useable state at the time I last looked. If it is done or I am imagining things, then I stand corrected.
While I have used dd in the past to make these, I've always found this to be much easier:
cat floppy.img > /dev/fd0
