I've got a friend who is getting into this (sewn logos on shirts/hats/etc.) as a salesperson for a company. Maybe I should give him a call for information.

Ouch, kinda on the high side. Maybe for you, but I think $20-25 is more than enough.
How about finding one of these guys with the computerized sewing machines you see at flea markets? I htink they could do it a lot cheaper. Provide your own shirt?
I'd like to see a little Tux with KCLUG underneath.
