Since there was no money changing hands, no patent issues or open source licensing, this is pretty much a null deal. It's MS and RH saying "We will play nice and let our customers interoperate", It's pretty much a mutual self-interest thing. If you ship a hypervisor that won't work with ${OS}, who would want to use it when so many others will?
