Hi Johnatan,
No, I didn't gain access to the linksys router at the store on broadway. I must have looked pretty foolish. I thought it'd be easy. I plugged an Ethernet cable into their router and typed 192.168.1.1 into a browsers address bar. I expecting an authentication dialog box to pop up and happily accept my user name and password, just like it happens on my home network, instead I received a "connection failure," type error message. Next, I tried turning on Airport(I was using a powerbook)to access the Internet. This time, a dialog box popped up, alright, but it wouldn't accept the username password combination the owner had provided. Eventually, I found several options available in the authentication dialog box, one of them, "Leap," seemed likely, so, I selected it and happily filled in the fields again. I thought I'd found an alternative way in but the router didn't buy it. It replied with another error message, "invalid password." I asked the owner of the store to verify the password with the person who had installed the LAN and told him I'd try again tomorrow. They want me to broadcast an upcomming event so they're being very helpful. I wish I knew more about networking. To broadcast, I need to open port 8000 on this LAN. Hopefully they'll provide me with the authentication information I need. If not, I'll be asking for more help.
