What is the link between geeks and paranoia?

Both are obsessed with trivial, nearly useless pieces of information that no one else sees, or cares about.

Both weave these tiny pieces of data into a coherent pattern, and then use insight from the pattern recursively to reveal specific anomolies with which they then tinker.

When debugging, the geek does something constructive with the skill. When paranoid, the geek is simply thinking about himself too much.

This email is trivial, and nearly useless, and therefore recursive.
