Be very careful with Dell on this sort of thing. Dell changes out the chipsets and does not change model numbers or anything you can see externally ( website, specs, etc. ) to reflect it.
Be careful of any card, I have 2 linksys 54g's same model number different revisions, one works native Linux the other requires ndiswrapper.
Most of the manufacturers are not tied to any certain radio, just what is the cheapest they can buy when doing a run of product.
